Annual General Meeting 2018-19

30 September 2019

NHS Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley CCG held its Annual General Meeting at Gravesend Rugby Club on Tuesday 24 September 2019.

Local GPs, Governing Body, staff and wider colleagues reflected on the achievements of the past financial year and considered the opportunities that expected changes to health services commissioning  across Kent and Medway could bring in the coming year.

Company Secretary Mike Gilbert said GPs would rightly play a hugely significant role in the new Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and the emerging Integrated Care Partnerships (ICPs).

Clinical Chair Dr Sarah MacDermott said in the last financial year the CCG’s budget was £363.4million, which was challenging in light of system changes and population growth, and the CCG ended the year with a £9.9million deficit. The challenge for this financial year was to reduce that deficit to £5million.

Highlights of 2018-19 included high numbers of patients quitting smoking, when compared to other CCGs; ; the Trailblazers project bringing mental health support directly into schools; the BeYou Project supporting young people who identify as LGBTQ+ and joint working with Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust to transform outpatient services.
