Urgent care post consultation

In 2019 the CCG invited local people to have their say on the future location of a new Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC). The public consultation ran from 12 August to 4 November.

The proposal was to create an UTC at either Gravesham Community Hospital or Darent Valley Hospital by autumn 2020. This will bring together the existing urgent care services provided by the Minor Injuries Unit at Gravesham Community Hospital and the White Horse Walk-in Centre at Fleet Health Campus under one roof.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the public consultation. Almost 16,500 people completed the survey or shared their feedback with us at the 30 community roadshows and three public listening events organised during the consultation period. We also engaged with residents in neighbouring boroughs, including Bexley.

These responses have been analysed independently and you can download the full evaluation report and supplementary analysis below.

Next steps

The Governing Body considered the independent evaluation of the consultation and the recommendations in the decision making business case on 16 January 2020. The Governing Body decided to develop two linked Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs), one at Gravesham Community Hospital and one co-located with A&E at Darent Valley Hospital, as part of a networked urgent care services model.
