We believe that patients should understand the choices available to them. It is important that we each have a say in decisions about our care, as decisions made now can impact the rest of our lives.
However, it can be difficult and sometimes overwhelming to take in the many options available, what’s best for you and assess any risks that may be attached to a procedure or treatment.
In order for you to make as informed a choice as possible, with the support of your GP the NHS has developed Patient Decision Aids for a number of conditions and circumstances under the Right Care initiative. These information tools are designed to support your conversation with health professionals.
These decision aids have been carefully developed by health experts and are meant as a helpful guide. You should seek the advice of a health professional in the first instance.
